King's Cross

Back to King's Cross for a day on the train. Blue sky in London today, and I meant to have an outdoor picture of the station but there were too many heads.

The vantage point where I took this photograph I discovered gave me a quick access to the train when it was finally announced. I was in the first carriage, and from here I am already well up the platform.

The day continued sunny most of the way to Aberdeen. The train had to take a diversion after we got to Edinburgh. We went via Stirling and Perth, rather than the usual route up the east coast. There had been an incident on the line north of Edinburgh which had closed the line.
