Constantinople of the north
A day out and about. Accountant at the Technopole, then Jo at Greenside Place. Quick call to Hungary, some LaTeX in Café Marlayne and a spot of lunch. Then it's time to address my shopping list, which takes me out into the rain, along Rose Street, up the Mound, down West Nicholson Street, eventually stopping in the Black Medicine coffee shop. More internet, LaTeX and coffee.
Angus has an interview in Cambridge on Tuesday. Exciting.
Then it's time for the IF5 to meet. Tonight we are in Dishoom on St Andrews Square. Crowded, tasty, but strangely unpleasing. It's thematically Indian, but palpably inauthentic. And far too trendy.
For a drink we proceed to the Devil's Advocate. It's too trendy and too loud, full of young professionals shouting at each other. We leave immediately and head for the Bow Bar on Victoria Street. Much more our style - quiet, well lit, seats and, most important, a good choice of real beer.
