Grow Bags .....

Another busy day , not helped by another no show by Kev. Once everything fed , got Bill set up on the slurry tanker while I dug the fertilizer spreader out the shed. By the time I had it on the tractor and all working it was lunch time. Managed to get 3 loads spread by 3pm then had to stop to feed and bed cows. Then had to take turnips out to the lambing field for the ewes by which time the cattle in the slatted shed had scoffed their silage and needed another load . It never ends- grass in one end, slurry out the other and hopefully some beef in between !
This is what I was spreading on grass today. In days gone by when Britain was an industrial nation there was enough sulphur in the atmosphere to keep crops happy, but now we are a nation of paper pushers we have to spend money adding it along with the nitrogen.
