Early

I was early at today's event so had the pick of the seats!
I was at this hall to make up the audience for WI Auditions Day. Surrey has a list of recommended speakers, nominally for the WIs but other organisations are keen to get hold of the list.
To get onto the panel, speakers have to go through the ordeal of being auditioned by an audience of 'ordinary' members' The audience fills in a form for comments with a tick for yes or no.
Today we heard potted talks from ten would-be speakers. Subjects ranged from the Titanic and the Magna Carta, both excellent, to the Beatles and the Science of Light - neither of whom made the grade for me.
It was an entertaining day and I met lots of friends I hadn't seen for a while. I am on the team planning the local WI programme for 2018, so I got some ideas.
