Mournful beast?

Not much success with the camera today - flowers insisted in quivering in the wind, the exposure on a ruined building was all wrong and the birds shut up and disappeared as soon as I got near. So I thought this sad looking log might do for Derelict Sunday.
It was a beautiful, hot and sunny day today after our big storm last night but has slipped by too fast, with not much to show for it. Still, I have been able to start catching up on people's blips and it feels good to be getting back in touch.
The extra photo is of our pink banana plant - not sure if it's coming or going. There are still some small bananas, but are they still growing or on their way out?
