San Fran Pride
By chance when we had planned the trip we ended up being in San Francisco the same time as the Pride parade. We headed down to the route and got a good spot. I was a baking hot day and the parade was massive with lots of people. I was good to watch, if a little political in places with lots of politicians trying to get in on the action.
On the way back to the car we walked through the stands and there was so much to see. Sadly there was not enough time to browse as we needed to make our way out of the city. All back into the car and off we went.
On the way out of the city we were going over the Golden Gate bridge. We thought it would be easy to stop at a photo point but it proved a little difficult. We had to jump out of the car to get a few photos while dad was driving around. Driving over the bridge you really got an idea of the scale of it, it was quite impressive.
Long drive up to Fort Bragg for our next stop over. Before checking into the b&b we stopped off at Glass Beach named due to all of the smooth glass pebbles washed up on to the beach. It was so cold and foggy, not the best introduction to the town and we just stayed for a quick glimpse of the pebbles before checking out the b&b.
We were very impressed with the accommodation, the host was very friendly and recommended a local pub for dinner within walking distance.
We wandered down for some dinner, they appeared to have local beer there and you could sample a number of them which seemed like a good idea. The dinners here were by far the biggest we had ever seen and we had made the mistake of ordering a sharing starter. With very full bellys we walked back to the b&b for the night.
