The Tower of St. Michael At Glastonbury Tor, Somerset, England

It seems like interesting things have been happening to me the last few days. Anyway, I still have yet to do my research and i'll blip about it once I have more info. Suffice to say that I feel blessed and have met a few beautiful souls since my Avebury trip.

So today I went to the Chalice Well and despite the rain walked around the beautiful garden. It is such a peaceful place and people go there to meditate. The plan was to climb the Glastonbury Tor after finishing at the well but the heavens opened up and so I decided to take a nap in the car. When I opened my eyes an hour later, the dark clouds started drifting off and the Sun actually made a welcome appearance! So I hurriedly climbed the hill and surprise surprise, a double rainbow welcomed my arrival at the tower of St. Michael. Now that surely is a blessing from above! It is another beautiful and peaceful place. Reading the brochure it said that the local people call it Ynys Yr Afalon which means the Isle of Avalon from the Arthurian Legend. There are a lot of myth surrounding the hill from it being the home of a Celtic Lord of the Underworld and later King of the Fairies, Gwyn ap Nudd to it being the mythological Isle of Avalon. It has also been linked to Joseph of Arimathea, said to be the uncle of Jesus. Whatever the truth is, the place is definitely worth visiting if only for the view it offers. I did walk away with more than just the joy from the shots I took, definitely more. :)
