funfair on the pier

Up to nice bright weather.  We checked out of the hotel and piled everything on the buggy.
Fred and I went with his mum as far as the railway station,  where she set off on her own by train to an open day at  Brighton University, the main purpose of our visit. She has applied for, and been offered, a place as a mature student  on a Sociology course - Social Policy and  Practice.
This is the taster, to decide whether or not to accept it and so move to Brighton.
Fred and I set off back down the hill, to do some exploring of our own.  We wandered the streets at first, then discovered and marvelled at the startling other-worldly architecture of the Royal Pavillion. We explored the Pavilion gardens where Fred was entranced by a busker singing Simon and Garfunkel songs.
Later we had chips on the beach. He had a kip in the buggy and I had an ice cream.
Then to the pier and the funfair. Fred danced to all the tunes of the rides as we wandered round, and then we found a seat in the sun while we waited for his mum. Fred got his first merry-go-round ride once she had met up with us again. We had a late pub lunch, then meandered off to check in to our AirB&B, all having had a really nice day.
