by some serious omission in my life I have never been to Brighton before, but I like it already. 

The travelling was as it always is, impersonal spaces and people trying not to catch each others' eyes, but Fred was having none of it and chatted to everyone. 
Arrived,  checked in to the hotel, went out to eat, went back and crashed out.
