Wet plate fog...
Since I saw the photography programme on BBC4 on Monday I've been fascinated by wet plate photography. I've never even taken any serious photographs with film; just a few snaps that are all seriously out of ficus but couldn't be thrown away (presumably in case they found some focus in the cupboard?) so were duly stuck in an album. They found the bin years ago though.
I follow the Street Photography group on Facebook and was so excited to find a 2 day course on wet plate photography suitable for beginners. They guided you through preparing the plates, coating them and photographing each other. Then once they had completely dried out would post them on to you. Everyone would create 4 or 5 wet plate photographs. Unfortunately the course is in Glasgow and at a date I am busy. But the Nik Collection came to the rescue with a wet plate conversion of the thick fog which yet again shrouds the island.
