Huka falls

Today we went for a walk along the Waikato river which starts in lake Taupo. A lot of ups and downs and most of the time high above the water. After about an hour we could hear the sound of the water falls. They are certainly not the highest falls but 200,000 litres of water forces it's way through the narrow gorge every second.
The river seems quite serene up until the falls with several small hot water streams feeding in to it which people soak in. After the turmoil of the falls there are a lot of bubbles and this gives it the name Huka which in Maori is foam.
