The Chipmunk

My friends all know that I am shy,
But the chipmunk is twice and shy and I.
He moves with flickering indecision
Like stripes across the television.
He's like the shadow of a cloud,
Or Emily Dickinson read aloud.

A beautiful sunny Sunday in the three day labor Day weekend end of summer stretch. Three friends of C's plan a visit today and that is sure to lift her spirits. She's so much better than last weekend.
