Monday and Tuesday are the weekend for my friends but F has been ill for two days. So their plans to show me round haven’t worked out. I borrowed F’s bicycle this afternoon and went for a ride. I visited the huge Hindu temple Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil. There was a ceremony going on while I was there. Priests, accompanied by a drummer and horn player, took incense and gave blessings at different alters around the temple. Worshippers followed them around. Then the holiest statue was brought out for a special ceremony. Unfortunately taking photos inside the temple isn’t allowed. This is one of the intricately carved towers outside the temple.
