WAR HORSE

This old girl has been played & played & has just suffered the indignity of a third re-fret. She's a 1968 Fender Stratocaster & worth a bloody fortune.

The more you re-fret an instrument - the more difficult it becomes - the rosewood fingerboard - usually amenable to steam treatment when removing the old frets becomes more & more friable due to constant  contact with acid finger-sweat.

Take a look at the fluted erosion in between the frets at the bottom right - see what I mean?
