Very long matches indeed!

I finally got away today down to the Borders where I've rented a cottage for a few days. The amount of stuff I had with me would make you think it was for a month at least. I saw my first lambs of the year on my way.

When I arrived at the cottage it was cold. Maybe no one had been staying over the last few days. I knew there was a wood-burning stove, so that had my full attention once I'd got everything inside. But there was a bit of a hitch - no matches. Luckily I know someone in the village and was able to borrow these splendid matches - which did the job admirably, you will be pleased to hear.
