Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

September Arrives on . . .

September arrived on the tail of a Blue Moon! We woke this morning to see that big ol' moon falling and fading as we looked out the front side of the house which faces the northwest. All night that big bright ball illuminated the backyard and shone in the sliding door on our upstairs master bedroom.

Today was warm, but not as hot as it has been and the evening has arrived with a definite cooler temperature than several of the nights we experienced in August. I have enjoyed this summer as much as any summer I can remember, but saying goodbye to it isn't quite so difficult because I always love welcoming autumn. (If I could live my life over again, I'd have two more daughters and I'd name one Autumn and the other Summer -- not sure why I had to express that, but I guess I just needed to tell it.)

Well, it is almost bedtime and I don't feel like I accomplished nearly enough today. I've done some work with student emails this afternoon, but not nearly enough, so maybe tomorrow will bring some serious productivity.

The glance over the meadowland just before dinner time was the reminder of what a beautiful time of year it is. I never get tired of looking at that view.

Good night from Southern California.
