to Do One's Bit (8)
As can be seen its was a magnificent day to go beach cleaning with Beach Buddies. Some thirty to forty people turned out to tackle the beach at Ballaghennie in the north of the Island.
I find that is very hard to turn out to clean a beach and not meet someone you know. I spent a very happy hour collecting rubbish and reminiscing with the lady seen here on the right.
She had worked in a Bank in Ramsey and had a recollection of my wife and son Stephen going in there some forty years ago. In order to keep him entertained whilst the business was transacted he was sat on the counter and she let him use the Banks rubber datestamp with an ink pad and scrap paper.
Can you imagine that happening nowadays!
