On Arran

A 10 hour day today to spend 4 hours with John's dad, as he lives on Arran, which necessitates one and a half hours in the car and an hour on the ferry then a walk to his flat, both ways! It was a nice day, however, and we did have a very good lunch at the Brodick Bar.

On the way back to his flat I thought I'd had too much wine when I saw this horse leaning over the gate of a very small garden next to the pharmacy - a fine old building put to good use - and what's more there was another smaller one behind. and the pharmacy is on the main road. when we came past again on the way to the ferry they were gone.

The mountain behind is Goat Fell, the hightest point on the island at 2866 feet, making it a Corbett, which are hills over 2500 feet.
