National Anthem Day

The Star-Spangled Banner was not declared the National Anthem of the USA until 1931 when President Herbert Hoover signed it into law.

England, doesn't have an official National Anthem but sing "God Save The Queen" as if it were.

Often, National Anthems have verses that are seldom sung.  Today would be a great day to check out your National Anthem and read all the words of all the verses.  You might even find the time and inclination to research the history behind the anthem.

Today, I took a new flag to some friends of ours to ensure that a local tattered one is replaced.

Met Birgit for lunch and we spoke about various things and dates and plans for our Scotland trip later this year.

Picked up a sample jar of a third shade of grey paint and came home and painted swatches on the outside of the house.  Think we have found the colour we want!!  Yay!

Heading to Kinston to eat with Kent's siblings and spouses.
