Orkney Blipmeet

What a great start to my first full day on Orkney. Northern Exposure, Poppy, Ollie and I met at the Standing Stones of Stenness. We had a quick look then decided to move on to the Ring of Brodgar where I took this picture. Ollie wanted to join in but obediently sat for the photo.

We met two archaeologists who were investigating drainage ditches. They want to find a way to drain the site more effectively without damaging it.

Lunch was taken in the cafe at Skara Brae where we chatted with enthusiasm about Blip and talked about some of the people we follow. Both Poppy and Northern Exposure have been blipping much longer than I have and the various names tripped off their tongues.

I also learned how to tell a visitor to Orkney - they carry umbrellas whereas no sensible resident would ever attempt such a foolhardy act!!

It was a great morning. Where can I organise my next Bipmeet?? (Hexham perhaps.)
