Kristiansund
The cruise is wonderful. We gently sailed to Kristiansund, a small town north of Bergen, where we are stopping for about 4hours (long enough for a chance to find a wifi).
The scenery is stunning. So restful and beautiful. We're continuing north to Aalesund early evening.
Yesterday's weather in Bergen was brilliant and sparkly blue sky - totally untypical for the notoriously wet Norwegian second city.
A bonus too. We hadn't realised that the Edvard Grieg International Piano Competition was due to start on Sept 1st. They wanted to try out their new Steinway and to check their broadcasting levels yesterday, using the recital that we were attending.
A marvellous pianist. When he'd finished I noticed that at least 4of us had tears in our eyes. Unforgettable. Serendipity.
