Framing the Landscape
Whilst considering the benefits in photography of good composition and framing I turned to the Yorkshire watercolour artist Ashley Jackson for assistance.
In 2013 he launched a project called "Framing the Landscape". This involves a simple metal sculpture in the shape of a giant picture frame being erected at various locations on the moors and hills. This would then enable visitors to capture a view of one of the iconic landscapes through an empty frame. They all carry the phrase "Many people look but only a few see"
There are now five of these frames around Yorkshire, and fortunately one is close by - above Hardcastle Crags.
I popped along this afternoon to see what could be done :-)
