Donkey's Ears

Galanthus 'Scharlockii'.

Discovered by Julius Scharlock in 1818 in the valley of the Nahe, a tributary of the Rhine in Germany. The flower is distinctive for the tall paired green bracts, conventionally described as like "donkeys ears" - perhaps in 1818 they had strange donkeys, who can say.

Thanks to John Gerrard's website for the above info

Jamie almost there.  A couple of trial run visits home completed and tomorrow he should be discharged and we can all return to normal ... whatever that turns out to be!  At least it will not involve spending so much time out of our home :-)
