The Midden

Another foul day today, so I wasn't outside much,just a quick walk to the shore. This sand-bank might not look like very much, but it is the site of an Iron Age midden (rubbish dump) and I regularly find bits of broken pottery here and other artefacts (including a few skeletons as the graves are uncovered). It is also near an old Viking village which is buried in the sands and there is occasional archaeological interest here too...
