Whisker Wednesday
The sun is so warm and lovely today, it really feels like spring. We New Englanders will take it, happily. Tomorrow promises to be warmer, but it is only February and winter cannot be done as yet.
Whiskers & Tongue
I had a warm and wonderful time with my old friends yesterday. We laughed and chatted about old and new tales. I love them with all my heart and it felt wonderful to be together. As the afternoon wore on, out of a bag came three very special framed prints, gifts to us from our red haired artist She had a cherished print for each of us and two more for those in Vermont and California who were missing from the table. A watercolor of the road into Camp Kiwanee where we all worked for several years going back 48 years now. The camp is no longer, but the Town of Hanson Massachusetts bought it all as a town recreation center, preserving the wonderful buildings, groves and waterfront. The waterfront once had a complex double 'H' dock system that was featured in the American Red Cross Lifesaving Manual. The main lodge is now a popular spot for wedding receptions and parties. We loved that building, and porch with the din of the dining hall, the wooden tables and benches filled with campers. I can remember the clink of silverware on Blue Willow dishes and the old stage where we outrageously entertained the campers with our counselor show antics. A very bad quality photo is included in the extras. There we are back in 1971 singing to The Leader of the Pack (me) on stage at a show. Flip back to yesterday's blip extras to see us still at it at the wedding reception back in 2013.
For the Record,
This day came in warm and sunny with great temps to melt the snow.
All hands worried about deportations.
