Botanical Gardens Napier

We wandered the gardens today enjoying the shade of the tall trees and a small waterfall or two. Built into a gully using seeds donated by William Colenso in 1858 it is a haven for doves, monarch butterflies, many flowers and the inevitable ducks.
We walked across this bridge with small waterfall. Enough to fill in the short time we had there.
Some small children and their mother were finding small painted rocks that others had hidden along the path. It is the latest craze.
An extra is a view from Te Mata Peak where everyone goes to see the whole of Hawke Bay spread out around them in every direction. This is looking nor east and is used as a para glider jump off spot.
