Props......

...for assembly.

The week before the holiday was National Storytelling Week and I had asked some of my Workshop pupils to help me take assembly today by preparing a story to tell, using puppets or props. A bit unfair with a week's holiday in between....

So it was just me.

I told the story of the competition between the wind and the sun....which of them will get a young girl to take her coat off...? The sun wins. The wind only succeeds in making the girl pull her coat more tightly around herself, to shut out the cold and anger of the weather. I hope my props explain themselves...

I hoped to parallel the positive effect of a smile to that of a frown...we shall see....
