Slapton Ley

Across the road from the sea, this is a freshwater pool, although it is slowly being breached by sea water. Eventually, the road will be claimed by the sea. I think received wisdom suggests that within 50 years the road will be washed away, but for now Slapton Ley is a haven of wildlife.

Despite the forecast for thick cloud, we've enjoyed a lovely sunny day. Doubt it'll last, but it's been a nice start to the week. Even my blood test didn't hurt - the best nurse at the practice did it - she says she likes a challenge. (I only have one vein in one arm that's any good.)

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my gorse yesterday. I was surprised the saying was new to so many. I've known it as long as I can remember.
