On the Road to Aberdeen
The Gold bus to Aberdeen did not disappoint today as we rolled through the countryside to Aberdeen fortified by coffee, muffins and tablet. The sun shone all the way on the gentle rolling landscape, picking up the beautiful bright russet earth of the ploughed fields of the Mearns.
The interchange of buses at Aberdeen was seamless, but the slow journey to Keith and our meeting place with daughter #1 seemed endless through towns like Inverurie ( where my great great grandfather was a master tailor), and Huntly, but interesting nevertheless with sign posts to places with unusual names like Temple of Fiddes , Chapel of Garioch , Old Rayne and Jericho .
Daughter #1 awaited us with a car at Keith to take us onward to Cullen where we are now sitting in front of a roaring fire with G&Ts to hand. Life is good.
