PIED STILT

Here's a couple of this years Pied Stilt youngsters (sister and Bro? - Himantopus himantopus) taking off having been left to fend for themselves in the latter part of the breeding season. Mum and dad weren't too far away keeping an eye out for their welbeing.
Nice.  Todays xtra is what I went after today ( the White faced Heron - Ardea Novaehollandiae) but prefered the young stilts.
