Cowboys...We Got Cowboys

Did you ever notice that only certain guys (and girls) can get away with wearing cowboy hats? The rest of us just look dorky wearing them.

I went to the Manatee County Ranch Rodeo today. No bucking broncos, no Brahma bulls, and (thankfully) no rodeo clowns.

Instead, the 5 person teams participate in events like the things they do on the ranch. Isolating the "doggies" (calves), and separating them from the herd. Working as a team to round up the herd, etc.

From a camera standpoint, the inside of the arena is WAY too dark, so most of my pictures were garbage. But, it was still fun.

One of the sponsors of the event was a local western wear shop. Come Monday, I'm going there looking for a cowboy hat...some cowboy boots...and maybe a new pair of Wrangler jeans.

Who knows...I may even learn to chew and spit.
