Welcome home ...

Says it all really. We're back. We arrived at the Western Ferries terminal in time to see this great swathe of rain sweeping south down the Firth of Clyde and knew we were back on home territory. Interestingly, the journey from Edinburgh had been one of the swiftest in recent months: despite the dire warnings of massive disruption and diversions on the M8 the road was relatively quiet (had everyone been put off?) and the roadworks seemed no different from before. Maybe they're saving it up till Monday.

But the photo really represents how I feel about being here tonight - I hate leaving places where I've been enjoying myself, and I hate leaving my family.
