Deep in thought

I had a day in Edinburgh today to view the Photographic Societies International Photographic Exhibition. I came away feeling uncomfortable as to how much manipulation should now be allowed. Whilst some of the work was stunning there didn't appear to be a lot left of the original image. There also appears to be a new fad of presenting pictures as high resolution water colours. There were very few 'pure photographs'. I was not the only one judging from the comments in the visitors book. This is an argument that will always cause dissent in photographic circles but I feel the time has now come to have pure photo's and artistic manipulation as two distinct categories. Just my view.

I was sat at Waverley Station waiting for 'The Highland Chieftan' when this group walked towards me. Two in close conversation and one in a world of her own.
