Sunrise

Another grey morning. The flowers in peoples front gardens are begining to lose their bloom but soon there will be another burst of colour from the autumn perrenials. I was begining to think I wouldn't get a decent shot when over a wall.....a burgeoning sun flower. This is an interesting plant. Apart from the nutritional value of it's seeds, when fully open, the centre where the seeds are formed creates a spiral effect. The spacings conform to the Fibonicci numbers where, in it's simplest sequence, the next number is the sum of the two previous, ie
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13.... These numbers can be found throughout nature. When it is fully open I will try to get a macro shot and explain.
