Glen Shee Mountain Hare

We took a few days off and drove up to north of Aberdeen via Glen Shee and Braemar. There was some snow as we went up the Glen. I spotted this poor dead mountain hare at the side of the road - the first I have seen dead or alive. Such a lovely and rare animal. Very sad.

It was still there two days later which I suspect is either a testament to its amazing camouflage or due to an almost total lack of  ravens, buzzards, fox, hoodies and golden eagles.
