Life through the lens...

Eye spy!

Cold wet morning, and then the sun came out this afternoon.

This rabbit had it's eye on me , and as soon as I tried to get closer, he was off!

This morning spent at Dewsbury Hospital Outpatients department.
When I went for my routine eye test two months ago my optician noticed a very slight bleed in one eye, and said she wanted me to have a thorough examination at the local hospital, as it may be the start of glaucoma. (but not to worry as in early stages it can be treated with tablets)

Well today I had thee most thorough examination possible, and a multitude of tests.
To quote the Senior Optometrist :
"Whilst I can find no definitive evidence for glaucoma, her risk factors and findings of examination suggest that a follow up visit would be appropriate."

The bleed has gone, but they would like to see me in 6 months for a follow up.
All the staff there couldn't have been nicer. They were extremely busy, and we had to wait a while, and then the tests took about 3/4 of an hour all told.
I have nothing but praise for the NHS today!

If any of you are due for a routine eye test, don't put it off, because I had no idea that anything was wrong with mine (except need glasses for reading)
And if there is need for treatment, at least it is in the early stages, and something can be done before it gets worse.

Nearly the weekend, and the weather forcast is good.
Apparently it has been the wettest summer for 100 years!
Let's hope we have an Indian Summer!
