Mince Pie Special

Took a day out to the Keighley and Worth Vallwy railway for a ride on a mince pie special. Complimentary pie and a real ale buffet car. What could be better. Plenty of smoke and steam. For you railway buffs the loco is a 1945 Austerity type 2-8-0. Austerity type because they where built in the war time when materials where at a premium and some of the usual fixtures where left off as well as the frames being made of steel plate rather than cast iron. This made them lighter so they could travel on bomb damaged lines.
