Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

PEACOCK

I've blipped a peacock before, but this one kept flitting past us as we sat out on the deck after dinner, posing on the stone wall, flicking its proboscis in and out provocatively until I was just forced to go and get the camera. I rather like the double shadow and the little glow at the end of the antennae.
To the Three Sisters this morning ( I know, I know, I haunt the place) for Business and Bagels Breakfast. I was very unsure about this for all sorts of reasons: a) I don't see myself as a 'business' woman b) I wasn't sure how my 'business' would fit in - would I feel all at sea among a group of young women make over and colour stylists? c) it was a sunny morning and gardening time was slipping down the plug hole towards noon. However, I was surprised by meeting a number of kindred spirits (Note to self: stop being such an outrageously prejudiced snob).
I love the early autumn garden tidy up and got stuck into it for three hours this afternoon. I found my hose quite by accident. I hacked my way through the vigorous undergrowth and there it was, hanging neatly on the trellis where it had been since April, the last time its services were required.
Off to the airport now, for a coffee with a friend whose life is so busy we only meet between her flights.

GOOD THINGS:
People - they are endlessly fascinating
Bees - ditto
Tasting our first runner beans, knowing they had grown from seeds a friend collected for us.

EXERCISE DIARY:

C'mon! I worked flat out in the garden.
