Pompidou Queue
We went to the Pompidou Center early this afternoon (13:30) and got in quite quickly (less than ten minutes). This was the line (queue) just an hour later, probably approaching 3O minutes. We began with a quick walk through the Cy Twombly exhibition; it's an excellent, generous show but he is not a favorite of ours. We then spent nearly two hours in the current display of works in the collection from 1900 to 1950. They rotate, annually I believe, so this set was new for us. I enjoyed Giacometti the most, with at least a dozen works on display--most from his surrealist period, in the 1930s (above all this work, in the original plaster!). Next day: I've moved the extra of three Giacometti busts which I briefly posted here to tomorrow (2/14).
The extra shows our boulangerie (bakery) through the window, as I went to get fresh croissants for breakfast.
