Can't live without...
The subject for today's Mono Monday challenge is "can't live without." Thanks to KangaZu for the suggestion.
Out for a walk today, where I took this shot of light filtering through trees, it occurred to me how important are the ability to walk and the sense of sight. My sight depends on lenses and has done since I was 11. The ability to walk I have taken for granted for most of my life. Last year, urged on by a FitBit, I was fitter than I had been for many years, walking almost 50 miles each week on average. And then I went to Rotterdam and sprained my ankle. It is only now, two months on, that I am starting to get back my fitness back to where it was in November. I am now working hard to get fit enough to enjoy a forthcoming trip to Spain.
Today, I also realised how hearing is important too. When out walking, I usually listen to music or to podcasts, via my phone. The noise of passing traffic annoyingly drowns that out so I seek routes away from roads. Today that didn't help as the strong wind was so loud I could barely hear more than a whisper in my headphones.
