Birds

The mission for the day was to get 20 people to Great Barrier Island, 3 hours by (fast) boat from Auckland.

My brother-in-law and I launched his 24ft runabout at 6.30am and set off in conditions a little different to forecast. But it was a pretty good ride really and we even stopped to fish under these gannets, no luck though. We arrived at the Barrier at 9.30am, refueled (73 liters) and then went to the bay to help get things sorted for the impending arrivals.

All went well so we even squeezed in an hours fishing and caught a few. Yum. Then settling in, a big group dinner, and bed!
