Snowy start
I had a work party at the nature reserve today. I arrived early and there was quite a covering of snow. The Hebridean sheep didn't move far away from me as they were clearly hoping I would take pity on them and give them some supplementary feed. They really don't understand me - I knew that by mid afternoon the snow would have vanished and there would still be lots of grass and scrub for them to eat. I won't give them extra feed until the snow is up to their tummies. A hard man, I know, but they are part of our elite commando flock and have been trained for such conditions!
