Seeking Shelter

Conditions on the sea were so extreme today as the wind whipped up the waves that the eider ducks came into the relative calm of Elie harbour. We often see them off the rocks at the other end of the beach but I can't ever remember seeing them in the harbour bay.

L and I tried to have a decent walk but cold hands and feet, walking into the freezing cold wind, suffering from a runny nose (brought on by the wind and not a cold) and wanting a cup of coffee drove us home sooner than we had planned.
