Music magic

We weren't planning to be out and about today anyway, but as it happened things were calm in Rio. The exits to several police barracks in the suburbs were blocked by police wives, but generally the streets were patrolled as usual.

I sweated my guts out - sorry, that's horses, isn't it - glowed as I started clearing and sorting the attic. Ronaldo didn't have anything else on, so I enlisted his help and he perspired while I glowed.

We went to an excellent show this evening by a young vocal group, Zanzibar. Anna, one of our choir 'monitors' (talented musicians our maestro recruited to help us out), is the group's musical director and another of the singers has just joined us too.  We love their music and the show was in a splendid old place in Tijuca. I'd love to have known the neighbourhood when it was probably full of houses like this. Now it's just another concrete sprawl. Extra photo - Grupo Zanzibar Vocal.
