Rotocross.... Racing Drones

This was on behind TePapa New Zealand National Museum tonight.
There were batches of 4 drones and a course that wove around various obstacles behind the building with pilots fitted out with vital reality goggles and they were fast. The guy on the bottom left had crashed....
The action was viewable on a big screen from the camera feeds on the drones and there is a short video (.mov) on the link  here
The Boss had a chat with "J" who worked at Weta Studios and had been specialising in explosions. 
I wonder if parents have the slightest idea what their kids will be doing in future careers these days.
