This is Cow Lane bridge which is one of the closest of the Shropshire Union canal bridges to Chester city centre. This version of the bridge was reconstructed in 1960. The road here is now known as Frodsham Street.

 It got its original name  because farmers used to take their cattle across here on the way to the cattle market in Foregate Street. According to the website I was looking at the proverb about the "bull in a china shop" had its origins in this street because the passing herds would have caused chaos for the residents and shopkeepers in what was once a genteel area. I suspect that a lot of streets make a similar claim.
