Big House

Most eastern North Carolina towns have several houses much like this one in Whiteville, NC.  This one is still occupied, and was likely built between 1900 and 1925.  It is rather imposing, but the extra shows one that is in the very next block.  Although I would not want to pay the utilities to heat or cool either one, I think they are fun to photograph and to imagine what life was like there in earlier days.  For me, viewing in large enhances the looks of both.
