Removing the chains

Our road was plowed last night!  We did get another 3 inches overnight, so when we went to town, G left the chains on until we got to the community hall.  Our road was slippery with ice under the new snow and so was the secondary road to the beach, but the main road was okay except for a few slushy parts.  The temperature is dropping below zero tonight, so all that slush will freeze.  We're expecting another snowstorm tomorrow afternoon, then back to rain.  I'm wondering how long it's going to take for all the snow to melt.  There were a few vehicles abandoned along the road and in town.  It's unusual to see snow piled around Ganges.  I've added three extras if you're interested in having a look at Ganges with snow.  :)
I'm appalled to hear that Betsy DeVos has been confirmed as the new Education Secretary in the US.  I wonder if the incredible donations made by her and her family to the Republican Party over the years and in the recent campaign influenced the nomination of her to this position.  I'm now wondering what the court decision will be about the ban on certain people entering the country.  Mad times.
