What bug eyes you've got!
After very little sleep last night, I was practically sleep-driving when I took HH to the club. Then I was cornered by the club president, and while I sympathise with everything he's trying to do, I had two dogs pulling me in different directions and it wasn't totally convenient. Particularly as he has the very Brazilian habit of repeating everything over and over (as everyone tends to speak at once, maybe it's the only way to get your message across. Forgive me, Walter in Brasília, for this sweeping statement, please take it as tongue in cheek)!
The friendly caddie said the parakeets I posted a couple of weeks ago are still in residence and I spotted the two adults, though not the little one. He also told me where to look for a pair of owls, but they weren't around at the time, or when I went back for HH. And I saw a squirrel, a first for me at the club. Ours are little skinny ones, very different from the plump fellers pictured on Squirrel Fridays.
Walked the dogs along by the waterfall again, very full after a week of heavy afternoon rain, and spent more time once I got home wandering round after butterflies and birds instead of anything more constructive. I got a kick out of one mainly black butterfly - quite big and obviously out to enjoy its short life to the full. It just kept zooming around, sometimes coming very close, but I only saw it alight a couple of times, very briefly. I gave up trying for a photo and sat back to enjoy the show.
