Not the Tower of London
Our complete party was all present and correct by 11am, after a little sit me down we set forth for exploration and dim sum lunch. Last summer when we went on a Thames boat trip, the man told us all about The Grapes, Ian McKellen's pub. This was a good as a plan for the day as any so we set off along the Thames Path, stopping for a swift half at any nice looking pub we encountered on the way. The sun came out, we sat outside by the river- it was bloody lovely. The Grapes was fine, we switched from the tiny pints there and also ate crisps. Taxi back for tapas after walking out of two places that didn't feel right. The tapas place was very right. In between and during all the eating, drinking and walking there has been splendid chat and laughing, little of which I seem to be able to remember now. It was ever so good though. I had meant to take a picture of the Tower of London which is at the end of our road but apparently I didn't. I do love the Tower of London, it's so big and chunky while not actually being a tower at all.
